This Is What Sunday Morning Looks Like at Granny's

Two sleepy dogs cuddled up against a patterned blanket in the morning sun, with a green yard glowing behind them

A cup of coffee. Sleepy dogs. And a chores list that can wait.

That's it. That's the whole agenda.

The sun came up over the yard this morning like it had nowhere else to be, and honestly, neither did I. The dogs found their spots — one tucked up against my blanket like he pays rent there, the other keeping watch over absolutely nothing in particular — and I just sat with my coffee and let the morning be the morning.

There's a garden out there that needs weeding. There's laundry. There's a canning shelf that could use some reorganizing (again). The list knows where to find me, and it'll still be there at noon.

But this hour? This one belongs to us.

I've been thinking a lot lately about how easy it is to measure a day by what got crossed off. Sundays like this remind me that some of the best mornings are the ones where nothing gets done at all — just warm coffee, warm dogs, and a whole lot of gratitude for this little life we've built.

I'm sitting here enjoying my grateful heart, and I hope wherever you are this morning, you're finding a quiet minute to enjoy yours too.

The chores can wait. They always can.
